Relocation Guide
for clinical pharma contractors

As a contractor there may be times when you have to move out of your local area to take up a contract which requires you to stay away from home. This may mean renting a house temporarily or staying in bed and breakfast Monday to Friday and commuting back home for the weekend. Often the business of relocation is the most daunting if not time consuming aspect of taking up a new contract away from home. Unfortunately agencies are of little help and as long as you're at the clients' site on day one, then they're happy!

If you're off to a new country, then look out for our country guides

We need your input and experiences!

We have been asked by a number of you to set up some help pages to aid you relocating. Obviously, we can't do this on our own as there are hundreds of towns and cities where you may be relocated to. We are therefore asking for your input - Have you recently relocated to a new area? Have you got any useful tips? To get you thinking we have come up with a few pointers you may be able to submit to us:

Suggested areas to live in (and areas not to live in!)

Cost of renting

Suggested accommodation (B&B, guesthouses, rental agencies etc)

Transport links (can you rely on public transport or does the company provide transport?)

Suggested restaurants, local activities etc

Social events (Are there organised social events? For example, dinner or drinks evenings or quiz nights?)
